Guesthouse was perfect for us. We were staying just for one night as we had a wedding in the area. It was great that we could come and go as we pleased! Our room was clean, tidy and quiet. Lovely cooked breakfast in the morning. Beautiful views too!
We really loved the Bield. Beautiful Victorian house built in rose granite making it lovely even in the grey weather. Right near several trails and in the heart of the Trossachs. The room was spacious, sparkling clean, very attractive with comfortable beds and a nice bathroom. Breakfast was homemade eggs, bacon etc. on order, with a small buffet of yogurt berries, nuts and other such treats. Alison was very warm, friendly and helpful.
We stayed overnight on our tour of the Argle region and totally enjoyed the B&B.
Excellent room, lovely guest lounge, Alison was a great host and breakfast very nice.
Having been 9 wks in UK we saw lots of different standards for accommodation, The Bield was at top of our list for excellence. A really nice homely stay.
Easy walk to the town center and restaurants
We hiked to Aberfoyle from Drymen along the Rob Roy Way and were wonderfully received upon arrival at The Bield. We had a lovely room at the front of the house, with a tea service and biscuits in the sitting area by the bay window. The bed was comfy and we slept well. It was close to dining and drink options, and a short walk takes you to the ruins of Kirkton Church and Cemetery as well as Doon Hill--the two places are actually connected by stories of Elves, Fauns and Fairies! The sun-filled ...
We decided to visit the Trossachs for the first time. We came across " The Bield " on the internet and booked it for six nights. We had superb accommodation, a wonderful host, and her helpers at breakfast. Nothing was too much trouble and we had an outstanding stay. We doubt anyone would find a better B & B in Scotland, or for that matter in the UK. Well done Alison!
We booked two rooms at The Bield for ourselves and another couple, when we travelled to Aberfoyle for a wedding. Alison couldn't have been more welcoming or helpful, providing information on taxis, places to eat and offering to do breakfast at a different time to suit the bridesmaid in the party. The house is beautiful, the rooms were quiet, comfortable and spotless, and the breakfast options were delicious. We'd thoroughly recommend staying.
We stayed here to go to a wedding in aberfoyle. When we arrived we had a warm greeting. It was such a lovely place to stay the rooms were very modern an the bed was amazing! The breakfast was fantastic and nothing was too much trouble. If we were passing or holidaying near here we will always stay here
The Bield is a beautiful house, nice and quiet and we felt very welcome. Our room was a great size (big enough for a full size travel cot and still left plenty of room), elegantly decorated but also felt comfortable and cosy. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice.
Nothing was too much trouble, including going and getting our little boy a 'bumbo' style chair so he could sit at the table with us while we ate our breakfast. Alison was even kind enough to post me my phone charger which...
We booked the Bield as we were going to a wedding in Kinlochard. What a wonderful place to stay. Very comfortable beds and rooms were lovely. Had a lovely breakfast thanks to Alison who was an amazing host. We never really do B&B but I would come back here to enjoy the Bield again and the beautiful area. Would definitely recommend. Well Done Alison!
Stayed here for a night when visiting the area - lovely room, modern bathroom, and really nice breakfast. The owner also put on a fire for us at night so we could read while having tea! She also gave us shortbread with our tea, which was really tasty
